The energy market is evolving — and so is the exnaton platform.
To support upcoming regulatory and market changes, and to help utilities offer even smarter flexibility products, we’re rolling out two important updates:

  1. Automatic support for the EPEX Day-Ahead Auction switch to 15-minute intervals, and
  2. Our new Price API, which enables seamless integrations with Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS).

These updates help you stay compliant with market changes and offer your customers more advanced flexibility solutions.

1. EPEX Transition: Day-Ahead Auction Switch to 15-Minute Intervals

EPEX SPOT will transition the Day-Ahead Auction from 60-minute to 15-minute intervals on September 30, 2025. As of October 1, 2025, our customers receive the delivery of 15-minute products.

How exnaton handles the change

  • All Day-Ahead prices in your dashboard will automatically be shown in 15-minute resolution.
  • This includes retrospective data, which will also appear in 15-minute intervals for consistency.
  • The update runs fully in the background — no action is required from your side.
  • No adjustments to billing, dashboards, or rate plan configuration are necessary.

If you spot any discrepancies after the transition, please contact our Support Team.

2. New Price API – Enable Smarter HEMS Integrations

We’re launching the exnaton Price API, built to help energy providers deliver dynamic, customer-specific price signals directly into the HEMS ecosystem of their choice.

With this interface, you can work with your preferred HEMS partners and unlock smart, flexible energy solutions for your end customers — improving both self-consumption and participation in dynamic tariffs.

What the Price API delivers

  • Customer-specific total price signals, including:

    • SPOT prices
    • forecasts
    • grid fees
    • taxes
    • local signals

  • Provided as an all-in kWh tariff directly to HEMS systems.
  • No need to control devices yourselves — the HEMS handles optimization based on your signals.
  • You remain the primary point of contact for customer energy needs and flexibility services.

Benefits

  • More attractive and engaging tariff products
  • Improved customer experience for PV, batteries, heat pumps, and EVs
  • Full compatibility with multiple HEMS partners, including clever-PV, SolarManager, Zerofy and others
  • Easy integration with minimal engineering effort
