exnaton story
exnaton originated in 2017 as a research project at ETH Zurich, supported by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, with the goal of enabling private households to actively participate in the energy transition.
After successfully launching Switzerland’s first local energy community, the project evolved into exnaton, an official ETH spin-off, in 2020.
Today, as an official SAP partner backed by leading investors including 4impact capital, Elevator Ventures, True Ventures, and Übermorgen Ventures, exnaton is driving digital energy transformation — enabling 50+ utilities to deliver modern, data-driven energy services already today.
