Digital accessibility isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s a necessity.
At exnaton, we believe accessibility should be built into every product from the ground up, not added as an afterthought.
That’s why, in January 2025, we completed a comprehensive UX accessibility audit to make sure our platform meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and aligns with the upcoming European Accessibility Act (EAA).
The European Accessibility Act (EAA) sets mandatory accessibility standards across the EU starting June 28, 2025. Its goal: to ensure that everyone, regardless of ability, can access digital products and services.
For energy companies and technology providers like exnaton, this means more than meeting a regulation — it’s about building trust and inclusion. Accessibility helps ensure that every customer can easily navigate, understand, and benefit from digital energy solutions.
“Accessibility isn’t a feature — it’s a foundation. It’s how we make digital energy experiences open to everyone.”— exnaton Team
To prepare for the EAA, we conducted a full UX accessibility audit across all exnaton products. This process helps us identify and address any potential barriers that could prevent users — including those with disabilities — from fully interacting with our platform.
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the international standard for digital accessibility, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
They provide clear, measurable criteria to make websites and digital tools perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for everyone.
In practice, WCAG compliance ensures that:
Our audit covered these areas in detail to ensure that exnaton’s platform meets the WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards — the benchmark most aligned with the EAA’s requirements.
We also analyzed how custom branding (e.g., color schemes and typography in whitelabel solutions) might affect accessibility, and we’re working closely with our partners to ensure that compliance is maintained across every implementation.
While our platform is accessible by design, visual and branding choices made during whitelabel customization can impact accessibility.
Colors, contrast ratios, and font weights all play a role in how easily users can read and interact with digital interfaces.
That’s why we’re encouraging all our utility partners and customers to review their branding setups. Our design team can provide guidance to help keep your user experience inclusive and compliant — without sacrificing brand identity.
Accessibility goes beyond legal compliance — it’s simply good design.
Accessible products are more intuitive, faster to navigate, and enjoyable for everyone — not just users with disabilities.
They improve:
In short: what’s good for accessibility is good for everyone.
We’ll continue to refine our platform, conduct regular audits, and share best practices to help our partners deliver inclusive, compliant, and future-ready digital experiences.
At exnaton, accessibility isn’t a legal checkbox — it’s how we build better.
